Recently, CVTE (002841.SZ) has been pushed into the spotlight of public attention following the incident where Gao Guanghui, a 32-year-old programmer, fainted while working from home on a weekend and ultimately passed away. The family believes the company has a long-standing culture of overtime requiring employees to be "on-call 24/7," and disputes arose during post-incident communication and responsibility assessment. However, an internal company email attributed related issues to the employee "not participating in the company's physical examination as required."
The incident occurred on the morning of Saturday, November 29, 2025. Gao Guanghui suddenly fainted at home and died despite rescue efforts.
According to his wife, Ms. Yang, who disclosed this to the media, Gao was still handling work matters before the incident; even during the rescue attempt, his phone kept receiving work-related messages. Records provided by the family show that Gao frequently worked late into the night, maintaining an intense schedule of "leaving home at 7 AM and returning at 11 PM." The family further stated that due to chronic understaffing in his department, Gao had to handle a workload far exceeding that of a single position.
As the incident developed, the focus of controversy quickly centered on the determination of work-related injury and the company's responsibility in safeguarding employee labor rights and health.
On January 22, staff from the Social Insurance Section of the Huangpu District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau in Guangzhou responded that CVTE had submitted an application for work-related injury determination regarding the incident. The human resources department has accepted the case according to laws and regulations, requested the company to submit relevant evidence, and will also conduct investigations with the family of the deceased. The case is currently still in the evidence collection phase, with no final conclusion yet. The determination result will be issued within the statutory timeframe.
That same evening, a relevant person from CVTE also responded publicly, stating that the company had submitted the required materials and was awaiting further instructions from the competent authorities.
However, the family raised doubts about the investigation process, claiming the company did not submit to the human resources department the backend data showing Gao's login to the work system in the early hours of the incident day, citing "involvement of commercial secrets." The family views this as key information directly related to his work status.
The controversy escalated further due to an internal company email. Ms. Yang stated that she received a forwarded internal email from the company's Health Management Center, sent by a former colleague of Gao Guanghui. The email, dated January 27, 2026, reminded employees to participate in physical examinations and mentioned that Gao had "not undergone a physical examination at the company's Health Management Center since joining in 2019."
In response, Ms. Yang stated that Gao Guanghui had hepatitis B, but he "underwent physical examinations at a Grade A tertiary hospital every year, with examination reports," and she believes the wording in the internal email seems to shift the focus of the issue.
This incident has also led the public to re-examine the company's portrayal of talent development and employee care. In its 2024 ESG Report, the company stated that it adheres to a people-oriented development philosophy, values employees' legitimate rights and career growth, and, through its self-established professional medical center, provides employees with comprehensive health check-ups twice a year. However, a stark contrast exists between the "100% employee physical examination coverage" disclosed in the ESG report and the individual case reflected in the internal email from the company's Health Management Center. Furthermore, the "Boundaryless Collaboration" concept advocated in CVTE's corporate culture has also sparked discussion on social media. Lights often remain on late into the night in the company's office building, indicating overtime work is not an isolated phenomenon.

The disputes during this work-related injury determination process have become a significant case for the public to examine whether the company's governance commitments are effectively implemented: In terms of labor practices, whether "Boundaryless Collaboration" blurs the line between work and life; in terms of employee physical and mental health and work stress management, whether relevant systems provide sufficient protection and constraints; and in the response process following the incident, whether the company has adequately addressed stakeholders' expectations regarding responsibility and value through information disclosure, communication mechanisms, and transparency.
